Latest Review - Superyacht Design - July

Some people claim that the most important seat on a superyacht is the captain's chair on the bridge. We beg to differ: there's only one place to sit on a yacht and that's next to the bar on the sundeck, preferably on one of these handsome Samui bar stools from Danish specialists Glyn Peter Machin. Made entirely from marine grade stainless steel with seamless welds and polished to within an inch of its life, it will add a sparkle to any cocktail bar. If the price of $12,400 sounds steep, you can take comfort from the fact that the seat is custom made to your size in aluminium, teak or painted fibreglass.

Latest Review - The Yacht Report - June Issue 144

Specialists in luxury superyacht products, design studio Glyn Peter Machin has unveiled two of the company's latest items. The TYC019 lounge chair has been carefully stained to enhance the details of the wood's grain. Using a range of quality hardwoods, the studio offers a wide variety of such finishes from natural, polished oil, satin and high- gloss varnish to awlgrip colours.

The second of the pieces, the TYC092 lounge chair, shows off the creative range of the company, as the studio had to develop a special visual stitch detail in the weaving to meet the demands of the stylish curves of the piece. All such Glyn Peter Machin woven items can be used both inside and outside, with the hand applied weaving to solid teak frames, in the case of the TYC092, ensuring the long-term durability of such products.
